[HIGHLIGHT=#ffffff]गणेशचतुर्थी คเณศจตุรถี ๒๕๕๕[/HIGHLIGHT]

พราหมณ์ทำพิธีขึ้น "มูษกธวัช" หรือพิธี มูษกธวัชโรปณ เป็นการขึ้นธงรูปหนู พร้อมเสียงสวดมนตร์และสังข์ประโคม อันแสดงถึงการกำหนดเขตสถานที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ และเริ่มต้นเทศกาลอย่างเป็นทางการ
ธงรูปหนูในพิธีนี้ มีความศักดิ์สิทธิ์มาก เพราะได้อัญเชิญมาจากวัดศรีสิทธิวินายก เมืองมุมไบ ประเทศอินเดีย
ใน ๑ ปีธงนี้จะขึ้นเสาเพียง ๑ ครั้งเท่านั้น และจะยกลงเมื่อส่งเสด็จแล้ว ดังนั้นในพิธีของเราทุกปี จึงไม่มีการปั้นรูปหนู หรือมูษกราช เพราะถือว่าธงนี้เป็นสัญลักษณ์ขององค์พระคเณศอยู่แล้ว ดังปรากฏในบทสวดในคัมภีร์พระเวท "คณปตยาถวรศีรษะ" หรือ "คเณศอุปนิษัทว่า "...เอกทํตํ จตุรหสฺตํ ปาศมํกุศธาริณํ , รทํ จ วรทํ หสฺไตรรฺพิภฺราณํ มูษกธฺวชมฺ" มีงาเดียว มีสี่กร ทรงไว้ซึ่ง บ่วงบาศก์ ขอช้าง งาหัก และวรมุทรา มีธงรูปหนู(มูษกธวัช)
